Alright so here's a suuuper easy DIY for you guys :) You're welcome!
Grab a shirt that you want to turn into your new bag. Remember, the larger the shirt the larger the bag. I am working with an adult large shirt so keep that in mind. Also, you don't have to pick a shirt with a print on it if you don't want to. It's totally up to you :)
Here's my shirt of choice :) I thought it'd make a great boho-fringey bag
First you'll want to cut off the sleeves, neck line, and bottom seam
And now start turning the bottom into fringe by cutting the bottom into strips.
Mine were about half an inch wide and 3 inches long but you can do them however you want :)
Make sure the shirt is laid out flat so that you can cut the front and back of the shirt evenly at the same time
Once you have cut all the way across start giving the strips a tug so that they roll up and get longer.
*As you can see I didn't cut off the bottom seam at the beginning like I told you to do. I got to this point and realized that the little tabs at the end of my fringe looked really dumb so I cut them all off. Save yourself the hassle and just do it at the beginning :)*
Once you've tugged all your fringe pieces pull the front piece of fringe away from it's matching back piece and knot them together to start creating the bottom of the bag like so...
Once the bottom is knotted move to the top of the shirt and cut your soon-to-be straps at the shoulder seam so you now have 4 pieces
Give those a tug as well and tie them together
*front right to front left and back right to back left*
as if you were making the shirt into a halter top!
And there you have your boho/fringey/super cute new bag :)
At this point you can deepen the neckline further if you need to, add a pocket, or do whatever you want to make it more you!
Hope you guys liked this super easy and super cute bag! I know I love mine :)
Thanks for looking! :)
